MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – Hot trials of the reactor unit of the second unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant have been completed, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.
According to the source, the hot trials represent one of the most important stages in startup and commissioning operations. The work proceeded with dummy fuel rod arrays placed inside the reactor.
In the course of the hot trials about 300 tests of the main equipment and auxiliary equipment of the reactor unit were arranged, including the reactor itself, steam generators, main circulation pumps, safety systems, reactor control and protection systems.
The tests have confirmed the equipment meets design parameters, the Energy Ministry stressed.
An inspection of the main equipment and auxiliary equipment of the reactor unit will be the next step of the startup and commissioning program.
