Grakun: Belarusian meat products are sold in over 100 countries

MINSK, 3 April (BelTA) – Belarusian meat products are available in more than 100 countries worldwide, Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister of Belarus Vladimir Grakun said at the opening of the 9th International Forum Belarus’ Meat Industry, BelTA has learned.

There is an increase in the output of finished products; their assortment is expanding. Manufacturers are opening their own retail outlets in the regions.

According to Vladimir Grakun, food products from Belarus have earned a name for themselves, they are known for their high quality. This is the reason why sometimes Belarusian products are counterfeited.

According to the deputy minister, the government pays serious attention to this industry. Priorities for the period until 2035 include improvement of technologies, introduction of innovations, utilization of existing capacities, production optimization, tougher quality control at all stages, import-substitution, and increase in exports.

“Belarus fully meets its needs for finished meat products. Thus, it can export more. Over the five years, there has been a steady growth in the production of finished meat products. In 2024, positive dynamics were observed across all product types. Belarus-made meat and meat products account for 99.6% of all meat sold in retail outlets in Belarus,” said Vladimir Grakun.

The 9th International Forum Belarus’ Meat Industry is running in Minsk on 3-4 April. The key theme of the forum is the sales margin. The event brought together meat manufacturers, government officials, heads of retail chains, packaging and equipment suppliers, experts in new technologies and promotion, researchers, etc. The program includes discussions, tastings, exhibitions, round tables, master classes, surveys, presentations and B2B talks.

The key event will be the Directors' Summit that will discuss management, standardization, HR policy, efficiency, and production standards. Managers and specialists in foreign economic activity will be able to exchange opinions and learn about new rules and regulations.

In addition, the forum will include award ceremonies “100 Roads of Export” and “Big Stars of Meat Business”, as well as the finale of the national performing arts competition Meat Fest 2025. This year its theme is Style the Belarusian Way.
