MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) - Grain maize has been planted on 100.3% of the designated area in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Spring crops were sown on 1,911,900 hectares, which is 80.8% of the plan. Spring rapeseed was planted on an area of 47,500 hectares, which accounts for 77.1% of the target.
Maize was planted on 905,300 hectares (73.9%), including grain maize (100.3%), potatoes on 13,900 hectares (83.1%), vegetables on 3,800 hectares (75.8%). The planting of flax, sugar beet and early crops has been completed.
Annual grasses were planted on 152,900 hectares, which is 62.3% of the plan.
