Governor: Belarus, Russia's Altai Territory explore new niches to give momentum to cooperation 

MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) - Belarus and Altai Territory of Russia are looking for new niches to give momentum to mutual cooperation, Governor of Russia's Altai Territory Viktor Tomenko told the media following a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 27 May, BelTA has learned.

"Ties between Russia and Belarus, Altai Territory and Belarus are very close. We cooperate across a wide range of issues, primarily economy, in various sectors of the national economy, humanitarian dimension and many other avenues," the head of the region said.

According to him, during their stay in Belarus the Russian delegation is set to tour a number of enterprises and to hold negotiations to discuss ways to strengthen technical and technological sovereignty, to replace imports.

Altai Territory, as the governor noted, is especially interested in purchasing farm machines and passenger transport vehicles in Belarus. 

"The range of issues for interaction is wide. We have already made certain headway. We are not starting from scratch. We are looking for the niches where we can give momentum to the cooperation for the benefit of Belarus and Altai Territory," Viktor Tomenko stressed.
