MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – Import substitution is one of the most important points on the Belarus-Russia cooperation agenda, Dmitry Krutoi, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation and concurrently Belarus' plenipotentiary representative to the CIS Economic Council, special representative for integration cooperation within the Union State, the EAEU, the CIS, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, told reporters, BelTA has learned.
“We started with the manufacturing industry; 14-15 projects are now being discussed at the government level. The Russian side has already approved the corresponding documents for seven enterprises,” he said.
“The president emphasized that a financial cooperation scheme should be urgently developed for this. This was discussed at the level of the leaders of the two countries,” said Dmitry Krutoi.
“Import substitution is a special area of focus and it should remain under special control,” the new ambassador noted.
