Good sales of Belarusian government bonds on home market in January-July

MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) – As much as $798.96 million worth of long-term government bonds were sold on the home market in Belarus in January-July 2021, BelTA learned from the Finance Ministry website.

According to the source, from 1 January through 31 July Br137 million and $798.96 million worth of long-term government bonds were sold on the home market, including Br137 million and $767.24 million worth of registered bonds and $31.72 million worth of bearer bonds. As much as $26.32 million worth of registered bonds were sold via the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange.

The Finance Ministry pointed out that since 11 January the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange has been selling issue No.271 of government bonds nominated in U.S. dollars (with the coupon rate of 4.5% per annum and the maturity date of 10 February 2028). Individuals can buy bearer bonds nominated in U.S. dollars from Belarusbank and Belagroprombank branches (issue A3 7 with the coupon rate of 3.2% per annum and the maturity date of 9 November 2023).
