MINSK, 17 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia will keep compiling the Union State supply and demand balance sheets for milk, dairy products, meat and meat products, Russian Minister of Agriculture and Food Nikolai Fyodorov told media on 17 March, BelTA has learned.
“On one hand, I think the list of products on the sheets will be reduced,” the Russian minister said. In his words, the parties say there is no need to harmonize balance sheets for certain positions.
“On the other hand, with the Eurasian Economic Union developing and expanding, balance sheets will be of interest to businessmen of the EEU member states as they need to draw up their business plans. We will work with the balance sheets and fine-tune them. However, keeping in mind EEU expansion, I think that the agro-business will still need balance sheets to forecast the manufacture of certain agricultural products,” Nikolai Fyodorov said.
Belarus and Russia has been compiling annual food balance sheets since 2008 in order to protect domestic producers. The parties coordinated food supplies for 2015 at the Minsk meeting on 17 March.
