MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – France would like to cooperate with Belarus in information technology, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Belarus Didier Canesse said as he met with a delegation of business owners representing over 20 companies from France on 29 November, BelTA has learned.
The diplomat emphasized that everything is in place in Belarus to promote the IT sector, which is also of interest to French partners. In his words, five or six French companies develop IT business in Belarus; this year their number has increased.
Didier Canesse sees great prospects in bilateral cooperation in water treatment and waste management. French companies are among industry leaders in these sectors.
The delegation of business owners from the north of France will be on a visit to Minsk till 2 December. This is a study visit designed to help the French business community to learn more about business opportunities and market capacity of Belarus, and to forge new partnerships in various economic sectors. The areas of interest of the French delegation include car making and international haulage, distribution of materials and packaging equipment, cooperation in the manufacturing industry, provision of maintenance services to industrial companies, lending and financial support, HoReCa, design and sales of luxury cosmetics.
On 30 November the French delegation will meet with experts from the World Bank, leading players on the car distribution market in Belarus, heads of big companies of the two countries working in the Belarusian market in the field of international consulting, high technologies, manufacturing, banking. In addition, the French delegation will visit the BelAZ mining equipment manufacturer and hold talks with the company's management.
The visit has been organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hauts-de-France. The delegation is led by CCI Hauts-de-France counselor Totka Ternisien. The delegation also includes Executive Director of the World Trade Center Lille-Arras Laurie Grzechnik.
