MINSK, 8 May (BelTA) - In April 2024 individuals in Belarus sold $82.8 million worth of foreign currency more than they purchased, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In April individuals bought the equivalent of $945.8million in cash and cashless forms and sold $1,028.6 million worth of foreign currency. In January-April foreign currency sales by individuals exceeded purchases by $346.2 million.
Purchases of foreign currency by Belarusian commercial entities exceeded foreign currency sales in April 2024. Based on the data of the National Bank, the commercial entities bought $64.1 million worth of currency more than they sold. In April 2024 Belarus’ legal entities bought a total of $2.333 billion worth of foreign currency and sold $2.269 billion.
In January-April foreign currency purchases by commercial entities exceeded sales by $658.7 million.
