
MINSK, 7 March (BelTA) - In January-February 2025 individuals in Belarus sold $7.8 million worth of foreign currency more than they purchased, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
Individuals purchased the equivalent of $1.921 billion in cash and cashless forms and sold $1.929 billion worth of foreign currency. In February individuals formed net demand for foreign currency in the amount of $15.2 million.
Based on the data of the National Bank, the commercial entities bought $508.1 million worth of currency more than they sold. In January-February legal entities purchased the equivalent $5.022 billion worth of foreign currency and sold $4.514 billion.
In February, foreign currency purchases by legal entities exceeded sales by $263.6 million.
