Foreign currency sales exceed purchases by $384m in Belarus in January-September

MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) - In January-September 2022 Belarusians sold $384 million worth of foreign currency more than they purchased, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).

In January-September 2022 individuals bought the equivalent of $7.18 billion in cash and cashless forms and sold $7.564 billion worth of foreign currency. In September, the net demand for foreign currency was $114.1 million.

Based on the data of the National Bank, economic entities of Belarus bought $1.005 billion worth of currency more than they sold in January-September. Legal entities of Belarus bought $20.139 billion worth of foreign currency and sold $19.134 billion in January-September 2022.

In September 2022 legal entities' purchases exceeded sales by $780.4 million.
