MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – In September 2024 individuals in Belarus sold $379.8 million worth of foreign currency more than they purchased, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In September individuals bought the equivalent of $845.4 billion in cash and cashless forms and sold $1.225 billion worth of foreign currency. In January-September foreign currency sales by individuals exceeded purchases by $1.26 billion.
Purchases of foreign currency by Belarusian commercial entities exceeded foreign currency sales in September 2024. Based on the data of the National Bank, the commercial entities bought $371.9 million worth of currency more than they sold. In September 2024 Belarus’ legal entities bought a total of $2.929 billion worth of foreign currency and sold $2.557 billion.
In January-September foreign currency purchases by legal entities exceeded sales by $1.92 billion.
