Foreign currency sales exceed purchases by $21m in Belarus in November

MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) - In November 2024 individuals in Belarus sold $21 million worth of foreign currency more than they purchased, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
 
In November individuals bought the equivalent of $978.4 million in cash and cashless forms and sold $999.4 million worth of foreign currency. In January-November foreign currency sales by individuals exceeded purchases by $1.532 billion.

Purchases of foreign currency by Belarusian commercial entities exceeded foreign currency sales in November 2024. Based on the data of the National Bank, the commercial entities bought $518.7 million worth of currency more than they sold. In November 2024 Belarus’ legal entities bought a total of $2.941 billion worth of foreign currency and sold $2.422 billion.

In January-November foreign currency purchases by legal entities exceeded sales by $2.666 billion.
