Foreign currency sales exceed purchases by $120.2m in Belarus in July 

MINSK, 7 August (BelTA) – In July 2024 individuals in Belarus sold $120.2 million worth of foreign currency more than they purchased, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB). 

In July individuals bought the equivalent of $1.038 billion in cash and cashless forms and sold $1.159 billion worth of foreign currency. In January-July foreign currency sales by individuals exceeded purchases by $661 million. 

Purchases of foreign currency by Belarusian commercial entities exceeded foreign currency sales in July 2024. Based on the data of the National Bank, the commercial entities bought $85.9 million worth of currency more than they sold. In July 2024 Belarus’ legal entities bought a total of $2.650 billion worth of foreign currency and sold $2.565 billion.

In January-July foreign currency purchases by legal entities exceeded sales by $1.382 billion.
