MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) - In January-May 2021 Belarusians bought $426.7 million worth of foreign currency more than they sold, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In January-May 2021 individuals bought the equivalent of $4.368 billion in cash and cashless forms and sold $3.941 billion worth of foreign currency. The net purchase of foreign currency by individuals totaled $426.7 billion.
In January-May 2021 Belarusian economic entities bought the equivalent of $10.138 billion and sold $10,574 billion worth of foreign currency. The net purchase of foreign currency made up $436.3 million.
In January-May 2021 non-residents of Belarus bought $154.3 million worth of foreign currency and sold $406.8 million. The net purchase reached $252.5 million.
