Foreign currency purchases exceed sales by $225.9m in Belarus in January-March

MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – In January-March 2021, Belarusians bought $225.9 million worth of foreign currency more than they sold, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).

In January-March 2021, individuals bought the equivalent of $2,423.8 million in cash and cashless forms and sold $2,197.9 million worth of foreign currency. The net purchase of foreign currency by individuals totaled $225.9 million.

In January-March 2021, Belarusian corporations bought the equivalent of $6,200.4 million and sold $6,003.9 million worth of foreign currency. The net purchase amounted to $196.5 million.

In January-March 2021, non-residents of Belarus bought the equivalent of $60.2 million worth of foreign currency and sold $227.4 million. The net purchase came at $167.2 million.
