First vice premier reaffirms Belarus’ readiness to advance cooperation with Russia’s Chelyabinsk Oblast

MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to consider any business ideas for cooperation with Russia’s Chelyabinsk Oblast, Belarus’ First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said as he met with Chelyabinsk Oblast Governor Aleksei Teksler, BelTA has learned.

“Your current visit is the most comprehensive, extensive, and substantive to date. You sought to explore all potential areas and identify opportunities for growth in cooperation between our regions. This is very encouraging. Your visit's packed agenda, the broad composition of your delegation, and your companies presenting their products in Minsk all demonstrate the importance you place on deepening collaboration and strengthening our partnership. As a result, we are seeing increased bilateral trade volumes. While I don't consider this the main indicator, it rather reflects the deeper cooperative processes unfolding between Chelyabinsk Oblast and Belarus. I am confident the future lies precisely in such cooperation,” Nikolai Snopkov said.

He emphasized that the meeting's purpose was to establish plans for long-term cooperation. “Not temporary or opportunistic, but sustained interaction that will drive economic growth and improve our citizens' wellbeing. We are ready to consider any proposals and cooperative business ideas aimed at intensifying bilateral collaboration, not for the short term, but for long-term integration of our intellectual, industrial, and educational potential,” the first deputy prime minister said.
