MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) - A delegation of the Belarusian State Control Committee took part in an extended session of the Board of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation. The board meeting was held within the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, BelTA learned from the Belarusian financial watchdog.
The Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation is the main international partner for the State Control Committee of Belarus. Specialists of the agencies conduct joint control activities, seminars, online conferences, and implement training programs. A new area of interaction is the development of interregional contacts between the territorial bodies of the SCC and control and accounting bodies of Russia.
During his visit to Moscow, First Deputy Chairman of Belarus’ State Control Committee Dmitry Basko also had a working meeting with Director General of the Audit Sector at the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority Wael Mahmoud. The parties briefed each other about the activities of the supreme audit institutions, functions, tasks and control tools. Interest was expressed in the development of relations between the agencies, including the exchange of best practices.
In particular, Dmitry Basko expressed the interest in the UAE experience in digitalization and application of artificial intelligence in various sectors of the economy, and in the field of audit. The parties also discussed the possibility of concluding a memorandum of cooperation between the financial watchdogs of Belarus and the UAE. According to the Belarusian side, it will serve to establish sustainable contacts and share best practices in auditing.
At the meeting Dmitry Basko invited the leadership of the UAE's supreme audit body to visit the Republic of Belarus to continue the dialogue.
