FEZ export of goods exceeds $2bn in Q1 2024

MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – The exports of goods by resident companies of the Belarusian free economic zones exceeded $2 billion in January-March 2024, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry.

In Q1 2024, the FEZ residents showed positive performance. Enterprises paid 32.2% more taxes to the budget, increased investment by 28.8%. The average monthly salary of employees increased by more than 22%, revenue - by 17.6%, output - by 16.6%, net profit - by 11%.

The exports of goods in Q1 2024 increased by 3.5% compared to the same period of 2023. The exports reached an all-time high of $2.1 billion in Q1.

Enterprises significantly increased the supplies of their products to Asian countries: 1.1 times to Kazakhstan, 1.2 times to India, 1.3 times to Tajikistan, 1.5 times to China, 1.6 times to Türkiye, 2.1 times to Turkmenistan, 4.5 times to Iraq.

FEZs continue to make a solid contribution to regional performance, forming up to 50% of exports of some regions of the country. Among the leaders in terms of exports are Minsk Free Economic Zone, and also FEZs of Gomel Oblast and Mogilev Oblast.

In Q1 2024, the FEZs expanded through 10 new enterprises with plans to create more than 500 jobs.

Investors plan to implement projects in metalworking, machine building, chemical and polymer industry, production of charging infrastructure for electric transport and others.
