MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – In H1 2025, resident companies of free economic zones (FEZ) invested over Br1 billion in launching and expanding production facilities, the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry told BelTA.

“These figures confirm a stable, upward trend in the nation’s investment activity. During the January-June period, the roster of FEZ resident companies expanded by 11 enterprises, which collectively declared investments of around $66 million and committed to creating 423 new jobs,” the Economy Ministry noted.

Investors plan to establish production facilities across a diverse range of sectors. Key projects include manufacturing construction materials (complete administrative, household, and residential modules, crushed stone, and technical soils), cable products, and sanitary products. Furthermore, new ventures are planned in woodworking, mechanical engineering, and the pharmaceutical and food industries.

“In general, FEZs continue to demonstrate consistent growth across key indicators. In H1 2025, investments in fixed capital increased 1.3 times in comparable prices, gross average monthly wages by 15.5%, FDI on a net basis by 12.4%, the amount of taxes, fees and charges paid by 11.5%, and industrial output by 2.9%,” the press service added.

The regions have drawn development strategies for their free economic zones for 2025-2030 and have defined a five-year project pipeline for resident companies. Work to attract new investors remains a priority.
