MOSCOW, 4 June (BelTA) – Three biggest manufacturers of agricultural machinery of Belarus and Russia have signed a memorandum of cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
“Russia's Petersburg Tractor Plant, Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ trademark), and the Belarusian agricultural machinery manufacturer Gomselmash have decided to develop long-term and mutually beneficial partnership aimed at implementation of projects in producing machinery and equipment for agriculture, forestry, and the utilities industry. The ceremony to sign the memorandum was held on the sidelines of the international expo Belagro 2021 with participation of the Eurasian Economic Commission,” the press service said.
“The signing of this important document between the leading farm machinery manufacturers of Russia and Belarus is the concrete result of the EEC activities to establish partnership between enterprises of the EAEU member states and to launch joint projects,” Member of the EEC Board (Minister) for Industry and Agribusiness Artak Kamalyan noted. “Such cooperation will help reduce the production cost of new products, improve investment potential, and get access to latest technologies, which will help increase the share of domestically produced mechanical engineering products in the markets of the EAEU and third countries,” he added.
In order to achieve these goals, there are plans to develop and implement promising projects in these fields, intensify intersectoral and interstate cooperation, promote products in the markets of third countries, and carry out joint research and development projects to design new competitive machinery. Other participants of the market can also become a party to the memorandum.
MTZ and Gomselmash also signed agreements of intent with the Scientific and Production Association of Automatics named after Academician N.A.Semikhatov within the framework of the conference “Innovative technologies in agriculture. Automated transport” that took place on the fringes of the Belagro 2021 expo. The parties decided to establish mutually beneficial cooperation to develop the production of automated agricultural machinery in the EAEU. This avenue of work offers advantages that stem from using automated transport in agriculture within the framework of smart farming, in particular, thanks to simplifying the construction of vehicles and reducing the time of field works.
“The agreements provide for customizing automated driving systems made by the Scientific and Production Association of Automatics for harvesters and tractors produced by the Belarusian enterprises and field testing the finished vehicles,” the EEC added.
