MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) – According to the latest data, Belarusian Railways transported 105.6 million tonnes of freight in January-October 2021, 2.5% up on January-October 2020. Export rose by 8.8% to $41.4 million tonnes, the Belarusian Railways press service told BelTA.
In January-October 2021 freight handling increased by 3.9% year-on-year to 71.2 million tonnes. The handling of chemical and mineral fertilizers, oil products, cement, industrial raw materials, coal, grain, and chemicals increased in this period, the press service noted.
Freight turnover rose by 4.3% to 36.6 billion tariff tonne-kilometers.
