Expert speaks about Belarus’ international cooperation in nuclear power

MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) – Deputy Chief Engineer for Personnel Training - Head of the Training Center of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (BelNPP) Aleksandr Yerin named the countries with which Belarus develops cooperation in nuclear power as he spoke at a roundtable hosted by BelTA.

“Türkiye shows great interest in cooperation with our country. Our specialists have already visited the Akkuyu site several times and took part in technical support missions. In 2023, Akkuyu specialists paid a visit to the BelNPP to review emergency preparedness and response,” Aleksandr Yerin said.

A delegation from Bangladesh, where the Rooppur NPP is being built, visited the BelNPP in December 2022. Their one-week visit focused on personnel training and innovations to adopt.

“Our main partner is the Russian Federation and Rosatom State Corporation. We interact with them on a regular basis - we exchange best practices, invite them to visit us, and participate in nuclear power plant events at Russian NPP sites. We also cooperate with China. They are building new units, and we continue our cooperation on specialist training and exchange of experience,” the deputy chief engineer for personnel training at the BelNPP said.
