CHOLPON ATA, 20 August (BelTA) – The next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be held in Yerevan in October, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Mikhail Myasnikovich said following the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, BelTA has learned.
“The EEC is set to address very ambitious tasks. These tasks will be fulfilled as planned and we will report on their progress at the session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council that will be held in Yerevan in October,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
The chairman of the EEC Board took stock of the recent meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. “There is a lot of discussion about the need to remove barriers in mutual trade in goods and services. Yet, there are also other obstacles hampering the promotion of goods in the common market. The parties approved the list of exemptions and restrictions on the EAEU internal market that are to be eliminated in 2021-2022. It features 14 obstacles: 13 restrictions and one exemption. One third of the existing obstacles is to be eliminated within two years,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
As for the environmental agenda, a high-level group will be put together to deal with this matter. “It will work along the lines of the initiatives and proposals put forward by the heads of state,” the chairman of the EEC Board said.
A roadmap for a coordinated transport policy of the EAEU member states for 2021-2023 was approved. It features about 50 points.
