MOSCOW, 23 September (BelTA) – The draft action plan (roadmap) to expand cooperation in civil aircraft industry has been approved at a meeting of the Advisory Committee for Industry of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), BelTA learned from the EEC press service.

“Five member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will jointly develop proposals on providing the EAEU countries with aircraft based on projected supply and demand balances for certain aircraft types. They will also exchange information on the needs and problems in the production of aircraft components, including with a view to replacing imported component parts in the high-tech industry sectors. The countries will also create a Eurasian technological platform in the civil aircraft industry,” the EEC informed commenting on the main provisions of the document.

“All our countries are fully aware of the importance of closer cooperation in the civil aircraft industry, and therefore they confirmed their readiness to continue working in this area. Cooperation in this field is an unconditional priority for the EAEU states. And this is not only about direct economic benefits for all participants in industrial chains. This work helps build stronger ties between our states and make the most of their scientific and technological potential,” said Member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agribusiness of the Eurasian Economic Commission Artak Kamalyan.

The Advisory Committee also approved draft action plans to fulfill the main cooperation objectives in the manufacturing industry until 2025 and to make sure that essential medicines and pharmaceutical substances are produced and in good supply in the EAEU member states. In addition, they discussed approaches to making a comparative rating of export procedures of jewelry, precious metals and stones in the EAEU.
