Eurasian Economic Commission working on agreements on common gas market, navigation seals

MOSCOW, 4 June (BelTA) – The Eurasian Economic Commission is working hard on two agreements – on the common market of natural gas and on the application of navigation seals for tracking freight movement. Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich made the statement at a conference held as part of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on 4 June to discuss “The progress and challenges of integration within the EAEU and the new development paradigm”, BelTA has learned.

Mikhail Myasnikovich said: “The commission is working on two agreements. Those include an agreement on the common market of natural gas. With it we intend to enable equal conditions for commercial entities. Work on the second agreement is not going so well but I think it will be prepared and forwarded for intrastate procedures this year after all. The agreement provides for introducing digital navigation seals, which will allow unhindered transportation of goods within the framework of our union and for export.”

Mikhail Myasnikovich also remarked that a certain reboot had been implemented in conditions of the coronavirus pandemic to allow the Eurasian Economic Commission and EAEU charter bodies to pass direct-action regulations. The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the Eurasian Interstate Council have passed around 250 direct-action regulations, the official added.
