Eurasian Economic Commission reveals details of Eurasian Economic Forum

MOSCOW, 27 April (BelTA) - Official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission Iya Malkina spoke about the preparation of the Eurasian Economic Forum as she gave a briefing for the press in Moscow on 27 April, BelTA has learned.

The Eurasian Economic Forum will be held in Bishkek on 26 May. Its program includes a plenary session with the participation of the heads of state of the states-members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and six panel sessions.

The business dialogue within the framework of the forum will discuss promising markets and export opportunities for the EAEU states. "The discussion will focus on the main areas of cooperation between the EAEU and third countries, including the prospects for new trade agreements and issues of exporting goods to third countries," Iya Malkina said.

The liaison unit for competition policy at the EEC will meet on the sidelines of the forum. The main topics will be public procurement in the EAEU and ensuring full and equal access to it. "Experts will inform business about the legal framework in the field of competition and antitrust regulation, explain the procedure for filing a complaint with the EEC about anti-competitive practices in cross-border markets. Representatives of the business will be able to get expert advice on the problems they face when entering export markets," Iya Malkina said. Business representatives can already file their questions to experts on the EEC website. Answers will be given during the meeting of the liaison unit.
