MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) – The Eurasian Economic Commission and Cuba will put together a plan to guide cooperation in the period till 2023. Practical aspects of interaction taking into account Cuba's observer status in the Eurasian Economic Union were discussed by Director of the Integration Development Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission Goar Barsegyan and Ambassador of Cuba to Russia Julio Garmendia, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission told BelTA.
Close attention was paid to the agenda of cooperation for the next three years. The draft plan on joint measures and events to be held in 2021-2023 contains proposals of the Eurasian Economic Commission and had been previously forwarded to the Cuban side via diplomatic channels for the sake of including counteroffers.
“We are ready to promptly look into counteroffers of the Cuban side in order to finalize the plan in early 2021and get down to implementing it,” Goar Barsegyan noted.
The plan will include common matters of cooperation relating to the organization of the work of the joint commission on cooperation and specific matters of cooperation in various spheres.
Representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission and Cuba drew attention to the importance of contacts between business circles of the Eurasian Economic Union member states and Cuba. Representatives of the business community will be invited to participate in events to be arranged via the joint commission on cooperation and in leading congresses and exhibition events concerning Eurasian affairs. Those will include the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Astana Economic Forum, the Eurasian Economic Forum, and other events.
Goar Barsegyan said: “It is the enabling of favorable conditions for realizing business projects that is a key indicator of successful development of integration.”
