Economy Ministry: Inflation slowing down in Belarus

MINSK, 18 March (BelTA) - Inflation is slowing down in Belarus, Belarusian First Deputy Economy Minister Andrei Kartun told the media, BelTA has learned.

"Annual inflation has slowed down in Belarus. Prices for fruits and vegetables have increased insignificantly and more Belarusian-made products have been supplied to the market. For the two months, inflation was 1.7%. We expected a higher figure," Andrei Kartun noted.

Real disposable income of the population increased by 5.1% in January 2024 year-on-year. The nominal salary in Belarus in January averaged Br1,991.2. Since February 1, labor pensions have increased.
