Economist speaks about EAEU advantages for Belarus

MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) - Belarus should think about cooperation not only in the Belarus-Russia Union State, but also in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Irina Novikava, head of the Department of Management, Business Technology and Sustainable Development at Belarusian State Technical University, expressed her opinion on BelTA's YouTube channel.

“We need to think about interaction not only within the Union State, but also within the EAEU. It is a larger group. It does not mean however that we should push away underdeveloped countries,” said Irina Novikova.

According to the expert, amid the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine, everyone is in anticipation to see the outcomes of this situation and what path the EAEU will take after the resolution of the problematic moments. “Many want to cooperate not just with Russia, but in general with the Eurasian Economic Union. For example, Israel and Turkey. It is believed that the integration group will develop well if the population is at least 250 million people. Our union represents 200 million,” the head of the department said.

According to Irina Novikova, it is necessary to make the EAEU attractive for other countries: Israel, Turkey, India and China.
