MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has improved the GDP growth forecasts for Belarus in 2024-2025, BelTA learned from the bank’s report.
According to the EBRD, GDP is forecast to grow by 4.2% in 2024 and 2.5% in 2025. In May 2024, the bank gave more modest forecasts - 2.8% and 2.2% respectively.
According to the National Statistical Committee of Belarus, Belarus’ GDP grew by 4.9% in January-August 2024. The goal for 2024 is 3.8%, so the country’s economy is growing at an accelerated rate. GDP growth in Belarus in 2025 is planned at 4.1%.
