MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – Leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union member states have approved an agreement on using navigation seals for tracking shipments, BelTA learned from Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Igor Petrishenko after a videoconference session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on 10 December.
Igor Petrishenko said the agreement had been long in the making, its adoption will allow accelerating transit shipments in the Eurasian Economic Union from abroad. “And respectively it will put up a barrier to existing grey trade schemes. I think that sales will become more transparent and the volume of trade will grow as well,” he said.
A resolution in favor of developing and adopting common measures to protect information in digital navigation seals was also approved. A special working group will be established within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union for this purpose.
Apart from that, the heads of state discussed in private the realization of strategic directions on advancing Eurasian economic integration in the period till 2025.
