Dodik: Belarus, Republika Srpska have many areas for cooperation

MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) - Belarus and Republika Srpska have many areas for cooperation, President of Republika Srpska, an entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik said as he met with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko in Minsk on 19 February, BelTA has learned.

“There are all prerequisites for our relations to be not just good, but more than good,” Milorad Dodik said. “I would like to thank you for the opportunity and always open doors for our people, our patients who have undergone organ transplant operations. More than 20 people, including three children, have already been operated on. Another 28 patients are on the waiting list for such an operation.”

According to him, Belarus and Republika Srpska have a large number of segments for the development of cooperation. Plans are in place to purchase Belarusian agricultural machinery and buses for a total of almost $10 million. “I, as president of the republic, have expressed a desire to buy ten of your buses for our municipalities. This would be a pilot project to continue the development of this area,” he said.

As BelTA reported earlier, Milorad Dodik is on a working visit in Belarus on 17-19 February. The agenda of the visit is busy, including a number of meetings and negotiations, visits to a number of industrial enterprises, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center of Surgery and Transplantology. The major focus of the visit is on the development of bilateral trade ties, building up cooperation in industry, healthcare, science and education, expansion of the bilateral legal framework.
