Development Bank to facilitate trade between Belarus, Russia's Bashkortostan

MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) –The Development Bank of Belarus will facilitate trade between Belarus and Bashkortostan of Russia, the bank's press service told BelTA.

Russian regional leaders regularly visit Belarus and participated at meetings at the highest level to discuss promising areas of cooperation and deepen economic interaction. After such meetings, Belarusian economic entities and their Russian partners start working on joint projects, including in exports of Belarusian goods and services. Belarus offers not only products, but also favorable financial instruments to facilitate their purchase. A short while ago, the Development Bank presented these instruments to the leadership of Russia's Khabarovsk Territory. The meeting with representatives of Bashkortostan discussed the efficiency of the instruments to increase foreign trade cooperation.

"The Development Bank supported a large number of export projects with the Russian regions. The results of these projects demonstrated the effectiveness of our joint work. Nowadays, we observe an active demand for the bank's financial instruments from both domestic producers and Russian partners. I am convinced that our meeting will give an impetus to fruitful cooperation with the entities of Bashkortostan in terms of increasing supplies of Belarusian-made products," said Roman Brodov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of Belarus.

Nowadays, Belarus and Bashkortostan cooperate at all levels, develop industrial cooperation and strengthen their economic and cultural ties. According to Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of Bashkortostan Mikhail Izotov, industrial sites and infrastructure are being actively built in the region to integrate economic and investment processes for the Belarusian investors.

"Together with our colleagues, we have analyzed the bank's products and identified a lot of interesting areas for us. First of all, we would like to discuss in detail the terms and conditions of providing resources by the Development Bank and options for our interaction, including within our joint projects, the work of Belarusian specialists and supplies of your manufacturing industry products," Mikhail Izotov said.

The Russian partners were briefed in detail on the bank's export financing activities. During the talks, the parties noted that it is an effective mechanism of international cooperation that includes various models of providing resources to purchase products and pay for the services of Belarusian specialists. The bank's representatives emphasized that the use of such loans is beneficial for all participants involved in the process. By offering such loans to foreign partners, Belarusian enterprises receive additional advantages over their competitors and export proceeds and scale up their presence in foreign markets. In turn, buyers of products have access to cheap resources with a convenient payment schedule.

Following 11 months of 2024, Belarus was among the top ten partners of Bashkortostan. “The share of goods and services exported from Belarus in Bashkortostan's foreign trade amounts to more than 53%. This is not the limit. The Development Bank will continue to actively facilitate trade between Belarus and Bashkortostan and strengthen interaction with this one of the most economically developed Russian regions," the press service said.
