Deputy PM explains which areas of Belarus-Russia cooperation boost national economies

MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich took part in the Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum in the Russian city of Kazan on 26 August, BelTA learned from the government press service.

The largest event of the Russian petrochemical industry marks the Year of Scientific and Technological Development in Tatarstan.

Viktor Karankevich welcomed the guests and participants of the forum on behalf of the Belarusian government. He described the forum as an effective platform for discussing advanced experience and the latest developments both at the regional and international levels.

Addressing the audience, the Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov highlighted the importance of Belarus' participation in the forum and exhibition. He expressed confidence that open interaction, exchange of opinions and achievements would help to find more ways of developing and strengthening bilateral friendly ties.

"Representatives of the Belarusian petrochemical industry are participating in the Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum. They have a lot to show and share. They will discuss these and many other matters related to expanding cooperation, manufacturing cooperation ties, bolstering technological sovereignty, digital transformation, and improving energy and resource efficiency with their Russian colleagues. These are the areas in which Belarusian-Russian cooperation is synergetic and works to boost their national economies and the Union State's production potential," Viktor Karankevich said.

Moreover, during the working meeting between Viktor Karankevich and Rustam Minnikhanov on the sidelines of the forum, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects and confirmed their readiness for further development of cooperation.
