Deputy PM examines construction site of Belarusian MAZ’s new bus enterprise

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Viktor Karankevich examined the models on offer and the construction site of a new bus manufacturing facility of Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), the company’s press service told BelTA.

The products on display included the tourist coach MAZ 350, the anniversary series road tractor MAZ 54402L, the electric bus MAZ 303E22, and the electric truck MAZ 4381EE. MAZ Director General Valery Ivankovich used the products on display to explain how an import substitution program is getting implemented at MAZ. The models included vehicles powered by conventional fuel and vehicles powered by electricity. The key thing was noted: the demand for vehicles is available. For instance, the company has signed a contract to sell a pilot industrial batch of ten tourist coaches MAZ 350. Three electric trucks MAZ 4381EE will soon be shipped to various Belarusian organizations for trial runs. MAZ specialists will collect feedback in order to further improve the model. Aftersales service will also be organized.

The deputy prime minister also heard out reports from people, who are responsible for implementing the large-scale project for building the bus manufacturing facility. Viktor Karankevich examined where the future manufacturing sections of the shop will be located. The timeframe for commissioning the facility was discussed as well as the schedule for delivering and installing the equipment. It was noted that the city administration and the company management are taking all the measures to keep construction on schedule.
