Deputy PM discusses Belarus' cooperation prospects with Turkmenistan, Zimbabwe

MINSK, 16 July (BelTA) – Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Turkmenistan Vyacheslav Beskosty and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Zimbabwe Igor Marshalov, BelTA learned from the press service of the Industry Ministry.

The participants of the meeting reviewed progress to fulfill the tasks set by the government and discussed the work of the respective diplomatic missions. The state and prospects of Belarus' relations with Turkmenistan and Zimbabwe were examined in detail.

Piotr Parkhomchik urged to step up efforts to expand trade and economic cooperation and promote exports. It was noted that the Belarusian diplomatic missions play an increasingly bigger role in advancing trade and economic cooperation, including through increasing the supply of industrial products. The parties exchanged views on how to make the work of the Belarusian diplomatic missions in Turkmenistan and Zimbabwe more efficient. It was emphasized that Belarus makes a priority of building strong ties with friendly nations.

The deputy prime minister expressed confidence that the ambassadors will continue to further the country's interests, with a focus on the economic agenda, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of Belarus.

Following the meeting, a number of instructions were given to government bodies to advance cooperation and improve coordination with diplomatic missions in fulfilling assigned tasks.
