Council of Republic ratifies Belarus-Russia agreement on Osvey aircraft production

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – At a meeting of the second session of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus of the eighth convocation, the Council of the Republic approved the bill “On ratification of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Russian Federation on the development and mass production of the twin-engine light multipurpose aircraft Osvey”, BelTA has learned.

The bill provides for the ratification of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Russian Federation on the development and mass production of the Osvey twin-engine light multipurpose aircraft. The document was signed in Moscow on 15 April 2024 to establish the terms and procedures to implement the joint project that is designed to boost national security and technological sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

Interaction on certification and airworthiness will be done through the authorized bodies: the Aviation Department of the Transport and Communications Ministry of Belarus and the Federal Agency for Air Transport of Russia.

The bill is aligned with the Constitution, laws of the Republic of Belarus, decrees of the president and international treaties of Belarus, the legislation of Belarus, and has been drafted in accordance with technological requirements.
