MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) - Cooperation in the Belarus-Russia Union State is gaining momentum, Deputy Chairman of the Union State PA Commission on Economic Policy, member of the PA Commission on Industry and Trade Denis Kravchenko told the media, BelTA has learned.
Minsk is hosting a joint meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly Commission on Budget, Taxes and Financial Market, the Parliamentary Assembly Commission on Industry and Trade, the Parliamentary Assembly Commission on Economic Policy and the Parliamentary Assembly Commission on Transport. The agenda of the meeting also envisages issues related to the development of a common scientific and technological space of the Union State, preparation of an updated approximate list of priority scientific, technological and innovation programs and projects of the Union State, organization of accounting and management of the Union State property.
“The priority issues include the accounting and management of property created within the Union State. These are very important issues. We held a large seminar in Minsk and expect to reach a solution by the end of the year. Among other things, there were proposals to set up, perhaps, a separate body that would manage this property, because its number increases every year. In general, the property issue is very important for the formation of a common economic space of the Union State,” Denis Kravchenko said. “Cooperation is actively gaining momentum between our countries both within the Union State programs and within the framework of interstate cooperation. Our enterprises have made very strong progress in developing joint projects in aircraft construction. There is close cooperation here, a huge order portfolio - about RUB1 billion within the cooperation in aircraft construction.”
According to him, space programs in the Union State are actively developing as well. “We welcome the recent flight of the Belarusian cosmonaut into space,” the deputy chairperson of the commission said. “We are developing our programs in satellite construction, creation of joint constellations, in microelectronics and other areas. A very important topic is cooperation in the use of peaceful atom, i.e. energy projects. You know that they are a solid success. All this strengthens cooperation between our countries and the Union State in general. The programs are aimed at achieving technological sovereignty of our states.”
