MOSCOW, 29 November (BelTA) - About 20 documents were adopted at the CIS Economic Council meeting which took place in Moscow on 29 November. Some of them will be submitted to the heads of government of the CIS countries for approval, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko told the media after the meeting, BelTA has learned.
“My colleagues and I exchanged views on a number of topical issues. We paid attention to the development of a common labor market, regulation of migratory labor force, and the use of national currencies of the CIS member states in mutual settlements. All these topics are aimed both at the development of the CIS in general and the interaction of its member states. About 20 documents were discussed and signed, and some of them will be submitted for consideration of the heads of government of the CIS member states in December 2024,” Igor Petrishenko said.
According to him, the meeting participants approved a list of priority industries and areas of industrial cooperation on the basis of national strategies of industrial development, and also a set of measures to improve safety culture in the peaceful uses of atomic energy.
The CIS Economic Council approved a draft protocol to amend the agreement on the procedure for investigating industrial accidents. Basic organizations were established in the fields of hazardous waste management and liquidation of objects of accumulated environmental damage; medical assistance in emergency situations, scientific and scientific-technical book publishing and periodicals, information and communication technologies. A number of decisions on CIS activities were also adopted at the meeting.
