MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) - Chinese companies are showing interest in importing peat from Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry.
Representatives of the Chinese business discussed the prospects of cooperation in the peat industry during their visit to the Turshovka company. They explored the possibility of organizing supplies of Belarusian peat to the Chinese market.
According to the Energy Ministry, the parties expressed mutual interest in implementing joint projects, and agreed that export logistics and terms of partnership will be worked out in the near future.
Belarus is the world's fourth biggest peat producer and the top maker of peat briquettes. This industry satisfies the needs of the domestic market in peat and also has a significant export potential.
Turshovka is one of the country's leading peat producers. The enterprise specializes in the production of fuel and non-fuel peat products.
