China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region plans to show its potential in Minsk in 2025

MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – We hope the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China will show its potential in Minsk in 2025, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Mikhail Myatlikov said at a meeting with a delegation of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China on 18 November, BelTA has learned.

Representatives of the Belarusian business community have more than once participated in the China-Eurasia Expo in Urumqi. In June 2024, the Belinterexpo enterprise of the BelCCI showcased a Made in Belarus exposition at this event. "The last time the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region showed its potential in Minsk was in 2015. The BelCCI was a co-organizer of that event. I suggest repeating this successful experience and planning a full-scale exhibition event in 2025," Mikhail Myatlikov said.

According to him, Belarus is open to further cooperation, new ideas and proposals.

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China He Zhongyou added that the level of mutual trust between China and Belarus is high. "The countries are good friends and great partners. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, our cooperation has been continuously growing and yielding new results," he noted.

According to him, some agreements of the heads of state reached during the 2024 SCO summit in Astana in July helped take the cooperation to a brand new level within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. "We came to Minsk to put the agreements of our countries into practice and present the potential of our region, which will enable the countries to deepen cooperation, get to know each other better and strengthen interaction," He Zhongyou emphasized.

The BelCCI has brought together representatives of over 60 Belarusian companies, which seek to find their niche of interaction with Chinese partners. The companies will hold B2B negotiations with Chinese companies. Plans are in place to sign framework agreements on cooperation in railroad transport, import of some agricultural products and to sign a contract on pulp supply.
