China starts vehicle deliveries to Belarus via BUCE

MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) - China has begun supplying vehicles to Belarus through the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), BUCE’s press service told BelTA.

“A manufacturer of special-purpose vehicles from China's Hubei Province has, for the first time, used BUCE's platform for industrial and consumer goods to sell its products in Belarus. The subject of the pilot deal was a tow truck, which is a proprietary development of the Chinese company. As a result, the range of import-substituting goods supplied directly by manufacturers from China to the Belarusian market via BUCE has expanded once again,” the press service said.

According to BUCE, until now Chinese enterprises had not used the exchange mechanism for selling vehicles in Belarus, limiting themselves to the export of components and spare parts.

“In January-November 2025, Chinese manufacturers have sold $12 million worth of import-substituting products through the exchange’s industrial and consumer goods trading. For comparison, during the same period last year, the transaction volume for this category of goods was less than $1 million. Simultaneously, the pool of Chinese suppliers of industrial and consumer goods has also expanded, from 6 in 2024 to 12 in 2025. Moreover, all these are companies that regularly participate in trading and conclude exchange contracts. In the case of the tow truck deal, the exchange platform did not just become an additional sales channel; it essentially helped the Chinese manufacturer enter a foreign market, as it had never exported its products to Belarus before,” BUCE said.

According to BUCE data, from January to October 2025, the exchange-based trade of Chinese residents reached $131.5 million, a 10% increase over the same period in 2024. The share of industrial and consumer goods in the total transaction structure was 9%, whereas last year this segment's share was less than 1%.

As of today, 329 Chinese business entities are accredited with BUCE, which is 82 more than at the start of the year.

Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading session in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with export and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. BUCE sells a wide range of metal, forestry and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
