China mulling over tourist routes featuring Belarus, neighbor states

MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – Belarus and China have exchanged opinions about prospects for cooperation in tourism, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Beijing.

“The embassy hosted a meeting with Chief Business Officer of HCG International Travel Group Tony Ong and Head of the Visa Department Zhang Yunran. The meeting also featured Editor-in-Chief of the magazine Diplomat Ren Jiayu. The parties discussed prospects for Belarus-China cooperation in tourism and exchanged opinions about ways to develop cooperation amid the coronavirus pandemic,” the message reads.

The Chinese party is considering working out tourist routes through Belarus that would also encompass its neighboring countries, should there be a potential demand for such routes among Chinese tourists in the future. “The Belarus-Russia intergovernmental agreement on mutual recognition of visas signed in June 2020 will also stimulate the demand, as it enables Chinese tourists to travel along routes that include both Belarus and Russia,”the embassy noted.

The parties expressed confidence that the cooperation in tourism will develop successfully after the pandemic and exchanged contacts for further interaction.
