MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Technological security should become the key priority of industry-specific programs. Belarusian Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar mentioned it at a session of the joint board of the Economy Ministry and the State Committee on Science and Technology, the ministry’s press service told BelTA.

According to Yuri Chebotar, regulatory bodies will soon begin working out strategies to guide the development of various branches of the national economy over the period of ten years. This is why the Economy Ministry and the State Committee on Science and Technology have to make sure these documents are compliant with goals of the national strategy of sustainable development and project initiatives of the comprehensive forecast of scientific and technical progress.

Yuri Chebotar went on saying: “Certain work has already been done. Over 25 technological maps to guide the development of the economy branches have been worked out together with parties concerned. Essentially they offer a ready algorithm for forming manufacturing chains: from raw materials and components to ready-made products. The most significant projects are supposed to be implemented in petrochemical industry, mechanical engineering, pharmaceutics, woodworking, and the production of construction materials. As the next stage it will be necessary to analyze the technological maps for compliance with the comprehensive forecast of scientific and technical progress, polish them taking into account the new technologies and goods mentioned by the forecast, and ultimately produce corresponding investment projects.”
