Call for more new enterprises in Eurasian Economic Union

ST PETERSBURG, 17 June (BelTA) - Industrial development is the way forward for the Eurasian Economic Union, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich said during the breakout session "EAEU: A new quality of integration" on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, BelTA has learned.

"We must seek to set up new enterprises and manufactures. In this regard, I would like to see more activity from development institutions, not only from the traditional development institutions but also from commercial banks. They should be interested in this too. We must create conditions for cooperation and integration projects to be beneficial to business. So far, we have launched 170 projects from the industrialization map. So far we have not seen assertiveness on the part of business. There is a wait and see attitude," said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

He believes that the situation will change when the stimuli mechanisms are worked out. "There will be industrial development, there will be investment activity and the EAEU will grow stronger," Mikhail Myasnikovich emphasized.
