Broad money supply in Belarus 2.8% up in November

MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – As of 1 December 2019 the broad money supply in Belarus was close to Br46.344 billion, 2.8% up from 1 November, BelTA learned from the official website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB). Broad money supply includes cash in circulation and bank accounts of individuals and corporations.

Cash in circulation (the monetary aggregate M0) grew by 2.5% to Br3.499 billion in November.

The active ruble money supply (the monetary aggregate M1), which comprises cash in circulation and transferable deposits in national currency (current account deposits in rubles, demand deposits in rubles, other accounts in rubles) went up by 4.3% in November to Br9.168 billion.

As of 1 December the money supply in national terms (the monetary aggregate M2), which comprises the M1 aggregate and other deposits in national currency (fixed-term deposits, escrow deposits) amounted to Br18.498 billion, 5.7% up in November.

The volume of national currency securities issued by banks (outside bank circulation) dropped by 2.2% in November to Br1.508 billion.

The ruble money supply (the monetary aggregate M2*), which comprises the M1 aggregate, other deposits in national currency (fixed-term deposits, escrow deposits), money of individuals and corporations in ruble-nominated securities, amounted to Br20.007 billion as of 1 December, 5% up from 1 November.

The volume of foreign currency securities issued by banks (outside banking) went up by 2.6% in November to Br1.684 billion.
