Broad money supply in Belarus 2.2% up in August

MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – As of 1 September 2021 the broad money supply in Belarus amounted to Br49.651 billion, 2.2% up from 1 August, BelTA learned from the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB). Broad money supply includes cash in circulation and bank accounts of individuals and corporations.

Cash in circulation dropped by 0.2% to Br4.479 billion in August.

Transferable deposits went up by 4.5% to Br6.368 billion. Transferable deposits of individuals dropped by 9% to Br2.984 billion as of 1 September. Deposits of companies went up by 20% to Br3.383 billion.

As of 1 September the money supply in national terms amounted to Br20.815 billion, 5.2% up in August.

The volume of national currency securities issued by banks (outside bank circulation) rose by 4.5% in August to Br1.631 billion.

The ruble money supply amounted to Br22.447 billion as of 1 September, 5.1% up from 1 August.

The volume of foreign currency deposits dropped by 0.1% to Br25.758 billion.
