MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – As of 1 September 2020, the broad money supply in Belarus amounted to Br51.287 billion, 0.2% up from 1 August, BelTA learned from the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB). Broad money supply includes cash in circulation and bank accounts of individuals and corporations.
Cash in circulation went down by 2.6% to Br4.082 billion in August.
Transferable deposits shrank by 12.3% to Br5.476 billion. Transferable deposits of individuals dropped by 20.9% to Br2.666 billion as of 1 September. Deposits of companies decreased by 2.2% to Br2.81 billion.
The money supply in national terms amounted to Br17.846 billion, 8.7% down in August.
The volume of national currency securities issued by banks (outside bank circulation) grew by 0.5% in August to Br1.438 billion.
As of 1 September, the ruble money supply amounted to Br19.284 billion, 8.1% down from 1 August.
The volume of foreign currency deposits increased by 5.8% to Br30.595 billion.
