BREST, 10 March (BelTA) – A delegation of Brest Oblast will take part in the 3rd edition of the Lvov Export Forum on 12 March, BelTA learned from the foreign economic ties and investment department of the economic committee of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee.
Lvov Oblast is an important sales market for Brest Oblast. It is second only to Kiev Oblast in this regard. In 2019 Brest Oblast nearly doubled the export to this western region of Ukraine. All in all, Brest Oblast shipped $9.4 million worth of goods to Lvov Oblast, up 95% year-on-year. The positive trend is expected to remain in place this year due to new business contacts.
The Brest Oblast delegation will be led by Brest Oblast Deputy Governor Gennady Borisyuk. The delegation will also include Director General of the Brest Oblast Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Valery Labun and Brest Mayor Aleksandr Rogachuk. According to the mayor, he will go to Lvov with a specific mission. “We are set to meet with the city's senior officials. We want to establish closer ties and sign a protocol of intent. We would like to study Lvov's expertise and knowledge in promoting local tourism. Lvov is a great food city and its dining scene has a strong identity. We would like to adopt some of its best practices in Brest,” Aleksandr Rogachuk said.
Taking part in the Lvov Export Forum will be about 100 delegates, including experts, entrepreneurs, government officials. The forum will feature three panel discussions, B2B talks, and company presentations. The forum is organized by the Lvov Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Lvov Regional State Administration with support of the ZED Association of Exporters and Importers and the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
